NWCS board to hold work, planning session Monday

The board of the Northern Wells Community Schools will hold a special work session and planning meeting at 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 6.

The meeting will be held at the Timber Ridge Event Center, 2330 E. 250N.

County Drainage Board will meet Monday afternoon

The Wells County Drainage Board will meet at 4:30 p.m. Monday, June 6, in Room 105, the multi-purpose room on the lower level of the Wells Carnegie Government Annex, 223 W. Washington St.

Topics on the agenda include:

• Discussion of the McKinney and Markley prong tiles.

• Consideration of a drainage easement for utilities in Liberty and Harrison townships.

• Project updates and miscellaneous drainage matters.

County Commissioners will meet Monday afternoon

The Wells County Commissioners will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, June  6, in Room 105, the multi-purpose room on the lower level of the Wells Carnegie Government Annex, 223 W. Washington St.

Topics on the agenda include:

• Appointments with Wells County Sheriff Scott Holliday, Highway Superintendent Shawn Bonar, and Engineer Nate Rumschlag.

• Cube  and  Company proposal.

• Annex meeting room sound system.

• Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals appointment.

• Offsite utility extension.

• A request to use the Parlor City Plaza during the Bluffton Free Street Fair.

• 911 consolidation.

• County farm property.

Bluffton Board of Works to meet Tuesday afternoon

The Bluffton Board of Public Works and Safety will meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, in the Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, 128 E. Market St.

Topics on the agenda include:

• A request to hire, brought to the board by Mayor John Whicker.

• A request for an internal financial transfer, brought to the board by Police Chief Kyle Randall.

• Randall will also bring a personnel matter to the board.

Items under old business include Community Crossings bid, junk at 427 W. Lanccaster St., and a  payment on the Main Street crosswalk.

Bluffton Common Council will meet Tuesday evening

The Bluffton Common Council will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 7,  in the Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, 128 E. Market St.

Topics on the agenda include:

• Consideration of a tax abatement for the Jackson Studebaker Investment Group.

• Edge Manufacturing.

Consideration of a tax abatement for WEG Bluffton Motor Wors.

• Consideration ofa tax abatement for 20/20 Molded Plastics.

• Consideration of a salary ordinance amendment, brought to the board by Police Chief Kyle Randall.

• Consideration of a resolution concerning guidelines for redistricting city council.

Wells County Council will meet Tuesday evening

The Wells County Council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, in Room 105, the multi-purpose room on the lower level of the Wells Carnegie Government Annex, 223 W. Washington St.

Topics on the agenda include:

• Transfers and an additional appropriation to Project Income.

• An appointment with Wells County Sheriff Scott Holliday.

• School resource officer renewals with  Northern Wells Community Schools and Southern Wells Community Schools.

• A  highway garage update, brought to the council  by Conor Jackson.

• Tax abatement compliance forms review for Haven Manufacturing and Heartland REMC, brought to the council by Wells County Economic Development Director. Chad Kline
