Board of Works to meet
The Bluffton Board of Public Works and Safety will meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, in the meeting room on the first floor of City Hall, 128 E. Market St.
Topics on the agenda include:
• A personnel matter, brought to the board by Fire Chief Don Craig.
• A discussion on an electrical substation upgrade.
• Consideration of a request to purchase.
• Consideration of hiring an engineering firm for stormwater management.
Topics under old business, which may or may not come up for discussion, include the alleyways project, commercial driver’s licenses, utility software, AdamsWells internet agreement, and city standards.
A work session with personnel from Crosby Construction will be held at 4 p.m. prior to the regular meeting.
NWCS board will meet Tuesday
The board of the Northern Wells Community Schools will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at the school district’s central office, 312 N. Jefferson St. in Ossian.
Topics on the agenda include:
• Superintendent’s report, including the elementary math curriculum selection process, textbook fees, and assessed values, property taxes, and budgets.
• Personnel matters — leave requests, resignations, and hiring recommendations.
• Review of trip requests.
• Review of policies.
• Consideration of bus driver stipend for 2021-22.
• Consideration of a separation and sick day severance agreement for Norwell Middle School Principal Tim Wilson.
• Consideration of job descriptions for a technology special assistant and an assistant superintendent, followed by a recommendation to hire an assistant superintendent.
The board will meet in an executive session at 4:15 p.m. prior to the regular meeting. During the executive session, which will be closed to the public, two topics are on the agenda:
• School safety and security measures.
• Receiving information about and interview prospective employees.
