Raiders get two wins in girls’ golf over Jets, Patriots
The Southern Wells girls’ golf team got its first win of the season over ACAC foes Heritage and Adams Central Thursday evening.
The Raiders had a 217 score, while the Jets got second with a 228, and the Patriots 237.
Leading the way on the scoresheet for Southern Wells was Caroline Ripperger and Kolbie Beavans who shot 52s. Sophie Meeks shot a 53, and Erika Beavans 60.
Southern Wells will host Norwell at Dogwood Glen Golf Course at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15.
Norwell tops Garrett in girls’ golf match
The Norwell girls’ golf team defeated Garrett on the road Thursday night with a 185-239 win.
The win keeps the Knights unbeaten in the two matches.
Anna Dodane led the field as the medalist, shooting a 41. Ellie Gatton followed Dodane with a 45, Emmy Heaston (48), Savanna Simmerman (51), and Nevada Lenwell (54).
Norwell will travel to Dogwood Glen Golf Course next to face Southern Wells starting at 4:30 p.m.
