Nancy A. Lowe, 65 of Bluffton, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton.
Nancy was born on Feb. 10, 1957 in Corning, N.Y. to Frank and Ruth Lowe.
Nancy attended school first in Big Flats, N.Y., near Corning. After her family moved to Bluffton, she attended Bluffton-Harrison Schools and Norwell High School, where she graduated with the class of 1975. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bluffton, where she was also an assistant in their preschool for several years. After that, she was employed at the Wells County Library for many years, until the fall of 2018 when she retired. Nancy loved books. When she learned of an opening in the library staff, she realized it would be the perfect job for her and after she was hired, she thoroughly loved it.
Nancy was a kind and caring person, ready to help in any way she could. Her family was often told that visitors and staff at the library appreciated her kindness, willingness to help, and her ability to find books and materials they were looking for.
She is survived by three sisters; Aleyce Lowe of Bluffton, Linda Moses of Corning, N.Y., and Holly Lowe of Albuquerque, N.M.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church in Bluffton with Rev. Lyle Ewing officiating. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton.
Calling hours will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan.10, 2023, at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the Wells County Public Library.
