INCIDENTS
City:
Tuesday, 5:59 p.m., residence in the 400 block of South Jersey Street. Caller reported theft from residence while the caller was in the hospital.
Tuesday, 7:30 p.m., Lancaster Estates mobile home park, 1211 W. Lancaster St. Caller reported mobile home had been entered and items stolen.
Tuesday, 8:27 p.m., 1300 block of South Main Street. Officers checked around the area for a man who had expressed via cellphone to a friend thoughts of harming himself. It was later determined that the man was in Randolph County.
County:
Tuesday, 7:51 p.m., 100E north of 300N. Report of a car pulled off to the side of the road with its hazard lights on. Deputy dispatched, located the vehicle and spoke with its occupants who advised the vehicle had struck a dog. The occupants were trying to check on the dog but it kept running from them. Deputy tried to approach the dog but it ran away into a woods. The deputy spoke with the property owner who advised the dog was not his and he did not know whose it might be. The vehicle was not damaged enough to warrant an accident report.
Wednesday, 2:33 a.m., Ind. 3 south of 900S. Tree blown down into the road and hit by a vehicle driven by Tom Hasel of Hartford City. Hasel did not want an accident report and the vehicle was able to be driven from the scene. The road was cleaned off by the deputy with the help of a couple of motorists who had stopped to assist.
Wednesday, 7:54 a.m., rural Uniondale man reported that he thought he was communicating with the Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston via Instagram. He gave out some personal information to the “actress” before realizing he had been scammed.
Wednesday, 9:38 a.m., Main Street in Petroleum. Caller reported wind had blown off some metal sheets stacked on a trailer on a neighboring property and now the sheets were blowing onto her driveway and hitting her vehicles and garage. Deputy responded. Re-stacked the sheets and placed a heavy object on them to keep them weighed down.
Wednesday, 11:17 a.m., residence on 200S east of 300W. Burglar alarm. Deputy responded. Alarm accidentally tripped.
Wednesday, 11:19 a.m., 300W south of Ind. 218. Large piece of furniture in the road.
ACCIDENTS
City:
Wednesday, 6:36 a.m., Main Street at Division Street. A 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, driven by Gina Pinkerton, 55, Bluffton, was hit from behind by a 2013 Honda Odyssey driven by Juan S. Cucul, 27, Fort Wayne. Pinkerton suffered back pain following the crash. Bluffton Fire Rescue and Wells County EMS were dispatched to the scene, however she declined transport by ambulance to the hospital. Damage exceeded $2,500. Cucul was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
ARRESTS
Jessica Lee Magley, 45, Fort Wayne; violation of pretrial diversion agreement on an original charge of driving while suspended with a prior conviction for the same offense, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $404.
Ashley Nicole Gatto, 25, Bluffton; possession of cocaine or some other narcotic drug, a Level 5 felony. Bond set at $10,000.
Rachel Lee Thompson, 43, Union City; failure to appear in court, a Level 6 felony. No bond set.
Kyle William Burch, 31, Berne; probation violation. No bond set.
Errol Jordan-Greenaway Sharp, 33, Fort Wayne; driving while suspended with a prior conviction for the same offense, a Class A misdemeanor. Released on his own recognizance.
