Another annual project of the Zanesville Lions Club is over, and even though it was quite chilly and we were competing with trick or treat night, it was a success. I will have the winners of the costume contest put together by next column. We now move on to other projects with Christmas right around the corner.

Come on over to the Zanesville Church of God as they are still inviting you to have coffee with them on weekdays from 7:30 to 10 a.m.

I remind you to take a look at the Facebook pages of all three churches, the Lions Club, and the Town of Zanesville as I sometimes don’t get news in time to print it.

Coming up the Lions Club still has apple dumplings to sell and our Pizza Hut punch cards and McDonald coupon books are still on sale and are good until the end of this year. This allows you plenty of time to get more than your money back especially during the holidays.

Our Christmas wreaths are up and ready to go. If you want to purchase one please call me at 638-4327 and I will make arrangements to get your wreath to you. These wreaths are 14 inches across and are decorated in the Christmas theme. They are attached to a wooden cross that can be driven in the ground. They are suitable for a door or yard decoration at your home.

If you are unable to place them at nearby cemeteries, we will have them placed for you at a small donation. The proceeds from the wreaths will fund the cash prizes we give for the home decoration contest we hold in December.

The price for a single wreath is $6. We hope to hear from you soon.

The Lions are also busy working on a display they will have at the Wonderland of Lights at Ouabache Park in December. If you want to help set up call me!

Voting is coming up on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Those of you who are in the incorporated Town of Zanesville will be voting for three candidates for the Town Council and one candidate for the Clerk/Treasurer. Those running for the position for council are Jack Blacksten, Barb O’Connor, John Schuhmacher, and Issac Zent. The two candidates for clerk/treasurer are Tara Bowersock and Julie Christian.
