I hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend! I hear remarks that the kids around here are glad to be back in school.

I am sad to report that a good friend of mine Marlin Krinn has passed away. He died on Aug. 14 at the age of 80. He was the son of the late William and Irene Krinn. A member of the Roanoke Lions Club, an avid fisherman, and the “Gumball Guy” . The kids at Lafayette Central School in 1988 will remember him as the picture taking guy and the dad of Marla. Some who had the privilege of sharing his videos and pictures of “The Great Blue Heron” will remember that experience forever.

I was looking for a program for the Zanesville Lions Club for our meeting scheduled for Monday, Sept. 12, and when I read of Marlin’s death I was reminded that the herons would make a good program. The meeting starts with a light meal at 6:30 p.m. and the program at 7:15 p.m. You can come to both or just the program. Please call me at 638-4327 to let me know you are coming for the meal. During the program (if old VHS tapes work) you will see the herons on Marlin’s videos and will be given a couple color pictures to take home.
