S. Dianne Kummer, 77 of Bluffton, passed away on Monday morning, August 29, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Dianne was born on April 16, 1945, in Wells County, Indiana to Howard & Velma (Mowery) Onweller and graduated from Petroleum High School. Dianne worked for the Caylor – Nickel Clinic for 38 years as a Certified Medical Assistant & receptionist, retiring in 2011. She enjoyed line dancing and ballroom dancing, loved all animals and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Bluffton First Church of the Nazarene.
Dianne and Richard E. “Dick” Kummer were married on September 28, 1963 in Huntington. They shared 48 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on December 15, 2011.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammy (Chuck) King of Bluffton and Shellie King of Huntington; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters; Eileen Hatch and Irene Kirkwood, both of Bluffton along with a brother-in-law, Jerry Bowman.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, her brother Terry Onweller and two sisters, Mona Bowman and Marilyn “Kay” Foreman.
Funeral Services will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Garden of Chimes at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton.
Calling will take place from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
