Friday, 5:05 p.m., Morgan Street at Miller Street. Report of an intoxicated man at the intersection. Officer arrived and detained Dakota Thomas Vibbert, 20, Bluffton, on charges of minor in possession of alcohol, a Class C misdemeanor, and public intoxication, a Class B misdemeanor, Bond set at $1,500.

Friday, 5:17 p.m., Walmart Supercenter, 2100 N. Main St. Caller reported his Dodge Durango sport utility vehicle was sideswiped by an unknown vehicle, the driver of which had left behind a note but the note was illegible.

Friday, 6:43 p.m., residence in the 700 block of South Marion Street. Loud verbal altercation between a man and a woman. Officers responded. Situation calmed, parties separated.

Friday, 7:03 p.m., residence in the 1000 block of South Jersey Street. Caller reported the neighbor boy used the caller’s vehicle from which to ignite a firework. Officer spoke with the boy and his parents.

Saturday, 6:08 a.m., residence in the 500 block of Eastmoor Drive, Bluffton Woods mobile home park. Caller reported five boys and girls roaming the neighborhood knocking on windows. Officer responded but did not see anyone.

Saturday, 11:52 a.m., residence in the 900 block of West Market Street. Report of a loud verbal altercation between a man and a woman over the use of a vehicle. Officers dispatched. Situation calmed.

Saturday, 2:39 p.m., Valley Park Apartments. Resident reported theft.

Saturday, 5:09 p.m., Peyton’s Northern Distribution Center, 1111 S. Adams St. Employee reported someone had torn the temporary license plate from his vehicle, but then left it behind in the parking lot.

Saturday, 11:23 p.m. Wabash Street at Bond Street. Fireworks complaint.

Sunday, 12:06 a.m., Bond Street at Wiley Avenue. Report of a slow moving vehicle weaving all over the street. Officer located and pulled over the vehicle in alley near Cherry Street on the west side of town. Andres Hernandez, 42, Bluffton, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while never having obtained a driver’s license, a Class C misdemeanor; operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $2,500. According to the results of a portable Breathalyzer test, Hernandez’s blood alcohol concentration equivalency was .147 percent at the time of the traffic stop.

Sunday 12:51 p.m., residence in the 800 block of Cedar Road, Bluffton Woods mobile home park. Report of an unresponsive person. Wells County EMS, Bluffton Fire Department first responders and officers dispatched. Wells County Coroner contacted.

Sunday, 5:34 p.m., Dollar General Store, 123 W. Market St. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. No sign of foul play found.

Sunday, 8:51 p.m., Dollar General Store, 1311 S. Main St. Caller reported two female customers exited the store out the back door. Officers responded and spoke with the women, who denied stealing anything and were not in possession of stolen merchandise. Both were warned for trespassing at the store.

Sunday, 9:09 p.m., residence on Sunset Drive. Fireworks complaint.

Monday, 8:10 a.m., 1000 block of South Jersey Street. Parked vehicles had fireworks debris on them.

Monday, 8:51 a.m., Walmart Supercenter, 2100 N. Main St. Caller reported her wallet containing her identification and credit cards was stolen while she was at the store.

Monday, 10:46 a.m., residence on North Oak Street Extended. Caller found a small plastic bag containing pills discarded along the street.

Monday, 7:13 p.m., residence in the 1300 block of Ellingham Pike. Patio chair stolen.

Monday, 8:21 p.m., residence in the 400 block of South Main Street. Caller reported a woman came to the caller’s front door and asked for money. Officer located the woman, who had a valid permit to solicit funds.

Monday, 9:48 p.m., Creek Drive at McArthur Drive, Bluffton Woods mobile home park. Report of a loud verbal altercation between a man and a woman over relationship issues. Officers responded. Situation calmed.

Monday, 10:54 p.m., Roush Park men’s restroom. Report of two boys drinking in the bathroom. Officers responded. One of the boys reportedly blew a .071 percent alcohol concentration equivalency on a Breathalyzer test while the other blew all zeros. Information taken for a report.

Monday, 11 p.m., Creek Drive at McArthur Drive, Bluffton Woods mobile home park. Report of a loud verbal altercation between a man and a woman. Officers responded. Both the man and the woman were warned for disorderly conduct. The two were separated.

Tuesday, 12:10 a.m., Market Street at Baldwin Street. Fireworks complaint.

Tuesday, 1:28 a.m., residence in the 700 block of South Scott Street. Loud verbal altercation between a man and a woman. Officers responded. Both of the combatants were warned for disorderly conduct.

Tuesday, 9:14 a.m., Cricket Wireless, 1980 N. Main St. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. No sign of foul play found.

Tuesday, 12:46 p.m., residence in the 200 block of East Wiley Avenue. Tires slashed on the caller’s vehicle sometime Saturday.

Tuesday, 1:08 p.m., Bluffton Police Department, 204 E., Market St. Homeless man came to the police department to report he had been defrauded.

Friday, 9:21 p.m., Ind. 116 near 100W by the Wabash River. Sheriff’s deputy encountered a couple camping by the river but on private property without the owner’s permission. They were told to pack up and move on.

Friday, 10:59 p.m., Ind. 1 at 800S. Indiana State Police trooper pulled over a vehicle and arrested the driver, Dylan Ryan Thrash, 23, Muncie, on charges of dealing in marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor; possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor. Bond was set at $3,000.

Saturday, 12:26 a.m., residence on Marzane Road in Zanesville. Sheriff’s deputy requested to investigate a case of fraud.

Saturday, 12:29 a.m., residence on 1000N west of 100W. Caller reported hearing a man yelling in the distance. Sheriff’s deputy located the man who said there was no trouble. He was struggling with relationship issues and had stepped outside of his house to yell in order to vent his frustration.

Saturday, 6:46 p.m., residence on 100E north of U.S. 224. Report that a 28-year-old man overdosed on drugs at a party. Sheriff’s deputies, Ossian Fire Department first responders and Wells County EMS dispatched to the scene. The man was taken to Lutheran Hospital.

Saturday, 7:36 p.m., Ind. 1 north of 450S. Sheriff’s deputy pulled over a Dodge Ram pickup truck after clocking it at 72 mph-55 zone and arrested the driver, Gerardo Pani Sanchez, 42, Bluffton, on charges of operating a motor vehicle after having been found to be an habitual traffic violator, a Level 6 felony, and driving while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor. Bond set at $5,000.

Saturday, 11:48 p.m., residence on Woodview Drive in Zanesville. Report of a an altercation between a female and two males. Deputies responded. Situation had calmed before they arrived and neither of the parties wished to pursue the matter further.

Sunday, 5:19 p.m., residence on 400E south of Ind. 218. Verbal altercation between two women. Deputies responded. Situation calmed. Parties separated.

Sunday, 8:29 p.m., residence on 450E south of U.S. 224. Sheriff’s deputy responded to three 911-hangup calls that were placed by a young man who was hoping to get a deputy to respond to the residence so he could borrow the deputy’s cell phone so he could call a friend.

Sunday, 9:34 p.m., residence under construction on Little River Trace in the Crosswind Lakes addition in Ossian. Caller reported it appears as if someone had been staying in the residence

Sunday, 10:25 p.m., 800 block of Countryside Drive, Sandalwood housing addition, Ossian. Report of a man shouting obscenities walking down the street. Deputy and state police responded. It was determined that the man has mental disabilities. His mother was contacted.

Sunday, 11:21 p.m., report of a erratic driver southbound on 300W from Ind. 124. A sheriff’s deputy spotted the 2002 Pontiac Montana heading south on 300W from 1000S and pulled it over after reportedly witnessing it cross the center line. The driver, identified as Edgar Gehovany Aquino Hernandez, 29, Montpelier, was charged with possession of cocaine or some other narcotic drug, a Level 6 felony; operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalency of .15 percent or more, a Class C misdemeanor, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person,a Class A misdemeanor; and open alcoholic beverage container during operation of a motor vehicle, a Class C infraction. Bond set at $6,500. Reportedly an open bottle of Michelob Ultra beer was found inside the vehicle along with empty beer cans and bottles. A portable Breathalyzer test reportedly showed Hernandez’s blood alcohol concentration equivalency to be .220 percent, or nearly three times Indiana’s legal limit for intoxication of .08 percent. A small plastic bag containing a white powdery substance that Hernandez allegedly admitted was cocaine was also reportedly found in Hernandez’s right side pocket.

Monday, 3:10 a.m., Adams Street near Lancaster Street. Officer located a road sign that had been bent by someone who had either ran over the sign with a vehicle or who had intentionally bent the post in an attempt to steal the sign. The sign was a warning sign for a curve in the road ahead.

Monday, 3:16 a.m., 100E north of 100N. Someone discarded a flat screen television and it shattered.

Monday, 7 a.m., residence on 950N east of 100E. Someone blew up a mailbox at the residence.

Monday, 7:50 a.m., Silo Farms mobile home park. Third party caller reported domestic disturbance at one of the mobile homes. Sheriff’s deputies responded but it appeared that the call was unfounded.

Monday, 12:20 p.m., residence on 1100 block of East Wabash Street, Murray. Caller reported someone had thrown a large chunk of concrete at her 2017 Chevrolet Malibu and shattered the back window and damaged the passenger side rear support and the trunk of the vehicle.

Monday, 8:25 p.m., 900S at Jeff Road. Caller reported witnessing some young men in a Ford pickup truck stealing the road identification sign at the intersection. Deputy responded and spotted a vehicle matching the description heading north on 300W near 900S. He followed the vehicle to a residence in Poneto where he pulled it over and spoke with the young men inside the truck. They reportedly had the sign in the bed of the pickup truck along with a road identification sign from Huntington County. The deputy advised the occupants of the vehicle that they will have to pay for the damages they caused or face theft charges.

Monday, 10:32 p.m., residence on 450E south of U.S. 224. Caller reported he loaned his black Ford Fusion to a friend and she was not returning it.

Friday, 4:37 p.m., Villa North Mall parking lot in front of the Subway restaurant, 933 N. Main St. Angela E. Ifer, 53, rural Bluffton, backed a 2011 Honda Pilot into a 2013 Chrysler 200 driven by Carolyn S. Bertsch, 56, Ossian. Damage exceeded $1,000.

Monday, 10:24 p.m. Main Street at Harrison Road. Cameron X. Sexton, 21, Muncie, made a left turn from Harrison onto Main and his 2013 Ford Fusion hit the side of a southbound 2007 Buick Rendezvous driven by Angela S. Knell, 21, Bluffton. Damage exceeded $2,500/

 Saturday, 5:20 a.m., Hoosier Highway near 400S. David J. Keller, 57, Greenwood, hit a deer with a 2022 Freightliner box truck registered to Penske Logistics, Reading Pa. Damage to the semi tractor exceeded $5,000.

Friday, 3:28 p.m., Ouabache State Park, 4930E-Ind. 201. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched to put out a 100-foot by 60-foot grass fire next to the former poool building.

Friday, 7:44 p.m., Nancy Loehle and Jamie L. Baggstrom residence, 428 Bittersweet Lane. Smell of natural gas in the house. Ossian Fire Department dispatched. 

Friday, 11:54 p.m., 11466N-550W, Adams County. Ossian Fire Department drone requested to assist the Adams County Shjeriff’s Department in locating the driver of a vehicle that fled his vehicle after crashing into a house.

Friday, 10:01 p.m., Yoder Road at Harber Road in Yoder. Ossian Fire Department requested to provide mutual aid to the Southwest Allen County Fire Department for a structure fire. The fire turned out to not be a structure fire but a controlled burn.

Saturday, 8:39 a.m., smoke alarm, Praxis substance abuse treatment facility, 1529 W. Lancaster St. Bluffton Fire Department responded. Turned out the alarm was triggered by a patient smoking in his room.

Sunday, 3:51 p.m., Bradley and Cierra Thompson residence, 2938E-250N, Bluffton. Smell of natural gas in the house. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. Northern Indiana Public Service Company contacted.

Sunday, 5:50 p.m., Seth Troyer residence, 4798E-1000S. Trash fire sperad to surrounding dry grass. Nottingham Township Fire Department dispatched and doused the fire.

Sunday, 7:31 p.m., 11369S-100E. Vehicle caught on fire and spread to a small structure. Poneto, Nottingham and Bluffton fire departments dispatched. The owner of the residence is listed on Wells County GIS as Alonzo Kahn of Rossford, Ohio.

Sunday, 7:47 p.m., 1514 Ridgewood Lane residence of Barbara Wolf. Smell of natural gas in the residence. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. Northern Indiana Public Service Company contacted.

Monday, 4:29 a.m., apartments at 426 W. Wabash St. Mattress on fire next to the building. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. Mutual aid from Ossian and Liberty Township fire departments requested. All apartments were evacuated. The fire had spread to the adjacent building causing minor damage.

Monday, 10:11 p.m., Timothy Lee and Patricia Atkins, 4135E-100N, Bluffton. Small grass fire behind the barn at the residence. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched.

Tuesday, 12:50 p.m., behind 803 N. Metts St., Ossian. Electric wire down. Ossian Fire Department dispatched. American Electric Power contacted.

Tuesday, 1:04 p.m., Matalco, formerly Alexin, 1390 S. Adams St. Fire in the electrical panel control room. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. Mutual aid requested from Ossian and Liberty Township fire departments. Decatur Fire Department aerial truck requested. The fire was contained to the electrical panel. There was smoke damage to the rest of the room. Bluffton Utilities were contacted to cut power to the plant so that firefighters could put out the fire. The plant was checked to make sure all areas were free of fire and firefighters were back in service at 2:35 p.m.

ARRESTS

Taylor Rose McClelland, 21, Bluffton; leaving the scene of a property damage traffic accident, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $1,000. Bonded.
