Jayden Bennett, a Boy Scout with Markle Troop 128, is undertaking a project that will assist his troop with a more organized way of storing their troop equipment.
As the troop’s quartermaster he is in charge of keeping gear organized and in working order. When he was elected quartermaster, he promised to do four things — getting shelves for their trailer, adding interior lights using a solar panel, add bike racks, and design and add a Scout logo on the exterior.
He has already received some donations to accomplish his goal, including netting from Hare Canvas Products, shelving and lights from I-69 Trailer, a solar panel from Chad Planck, batteries from the Lautzenhiser family, and $350 from Do It Best for some of the bike racks.
Jayden, the son of Dawn Bennett of rural Warren, estimates that he needs a few more donations to complete the outfitting of the trailer, which measures 16 feet by 7 feet, 9 inches. Sponsors of large amounts will be eligible to add a logo to the trailer’s exterior design.
