City:
Wednesday, 10:53 p.m., residence in the 300 block of Baldwin Street. Caller reported hearing four shot. Officer checked the area but neither saw nor heard anyone shooting.
Wednesday, 11:21 p.m., residence in the 100 block of North Oak Street. Deputy served a warrant for arrest on Roger Lee Fox II, 18, Bluffton, on charges of unlawful possession of a hypodermic syringe, a Level 6 felony; resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor; resisting law enforcement by use of a vehicle, a Level 6 felony; communication intimidation, a Level 6 felony; possession of a Schedule I, II, III, or IV controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor; reckless driving, a Class A misdemeanor; operating a motor vehicle without ever obtaining a driver’s license, a Class C misdemeanor; and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $21,500.
Thursday, Main Street at Hillcrest Road. Officer pulled over a vehicle and arrested the driver, Ryan Michael Kavanaugh, 38, Bluffton on an outstanding warrant for probation violation. No bond set.

Wednesday, 5:06 p.m., residence on 300S east of the Huntington County line. Caller reported that someone in a blue Chevrolet Suburban drove by his house very slowly. When he stepped outside, the sport utility vehicle sped away.
Wednesday, 6:19 p.m., residence on 900N west of Meridian Road. Caller reported someone fraudulently created a Montgomery Ward account in the caller’s name and had charged $500 to the account.
Thursday, 2:11 a.m., residence on 200W in Keystone. Report of an unresponsive 61-year-old female. Officers, Chester and Nottingham township fire department first responders and Wells County EMS dispatched. Wells County Coroner requested to respond to the scene.
Ossian:
Monday, 9:16 p.m., man came to the Ossian Police Department to report that his 16-year-old daughter was punched in the face by one of her female friends’ boyfriend.
Wednesday, 7:43 p.m., 500 block of North Jefferson Street. Ossian police officer pulled over a red Honda after receiving a complaint that the vehicle had been swerving all over the road since leaving Bluffton northbound on Ind. 1. Officer discovered the driver was not intoxicated. The occupants of the vehicle were just trying to keep their dog from eating their pizza.
ACCIDENTS

Wednesday, 1:10 p.m., 700E north of 700S. Kevin D. Gillum, 49, rural Poneto, was driving a 2000 Volvo dump truck for the Wells County Highway Department when the dump bed sustained a mechanical problem that caused the bed to rise. The dump bed caught an I&M electric service line that was strung from the main line across the road to the Rex Gentis residence, 6672S-700E. The bed ripped the wire in half. Damage was estimated at less than $1,000.
Wednesday, 9:42 p.m., Ind. 116 south of 300N. James S. Bischoff, 62, Huntington, hit a deer with his 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan. Damage to the sport utility vehicle was estimated at less than $1,000.
FIRES
Thursday, 9:28 a.m., 187 W. Main St., Poneto, Flames coming from under the hood of a vehicle. Poneto and Bluffton fire department dispatched. Sheriff’s deputy extinguished the fire using a fire extinguisher.
ARRESTS
Trevor James Coleman, 19, Bluffton; criminal trespass, a Class A misdemeanor. No bond set.

Kevin J. Ford, 22, rural Poneto; expired license plate, Main Street at Dustman Road.
