Wells County Public Library played host to Beth from Indiana Wild as she brought both a frog and a toad, and a variety of other “beasts,” for a recent visit.

Her visit was part of the library’s programing for the One County One Read book, “Frog and Toad.” As each animal was introduced and told about a member of the audience was invited to help with the presentation.

Xiaver, at left, met Peep, a Lovebird, up close as he felt the bird’s feathers.

The evening concluded with everyone invited to pet or “touch” the animals  that included a rabbit, two tortoises (one large/one small), an African Bald Python snake, a tree frog, a millipede, a bird and an alligator in addition the frog and a  toad. 

Robbie, at left, was the assistant in displaying Monty, an African Bald Python snake.

Indiana Wild is located in Woodburn and gives homes to animals from rescue situations. Their programs stress the need for giving pets  good homes and doing the research for what a pet needs before securing one.

Becket was given the task of holding Moe the larger tortoise.
