A 2012 Norwell graduate and Wells County native opened the door to his new business and storefront on Saturday.
Wayne Home and Design Co., located in Fort Wayne, is filled with a wide variety of homewares, like furniture, accent pieces, pillows, and blankets.
The man behind the design, Brandon Wayne Schueler, said that some of his creativity first stemmed from landscape design he did in high school while attending Norwell. This skill eventually evolved into an interest and passion for interior design.
Following graduation, Schueler moved out of Wells County and began his career in real estate, working as a realtor for over 12 years with the Schueler-Beckstedt Real Estate and Mike Thomas Associates.
He credited his love for choosing the finishing touches and curating the perfect space in buying his own home, which he renovated and designed himself.
“Two years ago, I decided if this is something I love, why not bring it to Fort Wayne?” Schueler said. “I felt like the market was lacking in curated design options — outside of the big box stores.”
In addition to private consultations, Schueler plans to host quarterly events in the storefront as well.
“My main priority was to create an experience for everybody that walks through the door,” Schueler said. “I don’t want it to just be another store, I want people to remember the experience. That has been at the forefront of everything I’ve done and made for the store.”
Wayne Home & Design Co. is located at 7763 Coldwater Rd. in Fort Wayne. Additional information can be located on the Wayne Home and Design Co. Facebook page.
