Norwell tops Luers in softball
Norwell defeated Bishop Luers 10-3 on the road Tuesday night.
The Knights produced 12 hits in the game, led by Makayla Young and Abby Wagner who had three hit games. Wagner had a double and four RBI, while Young had an RBI.
Reese Frauhiger tripled home a run and went 2-4 in the game. Leah Werling brought home two in a 1-3 effort, and Teagan Lesley’s lone hit was a double for an RBI.
Kara Brown earned the win on the mound, throwing a complete, seven-inning game with three runs (one earned) with eight hits, one walk and nine strikeouts.
Norwell will host Marion at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 16.
Knights sweep Archers, remain perfect in tennis
The Norwell girls’ tennis team swept South Side on the road Tuesday night.
The win improved the Knights’ record to 5-0 on the season.

• Annabelle Johnson and Macy Felger defeated Giselle Colin and Melanie Reyes 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles.
• Jordyn Xayyachack and Ciera Hiester defeated Paw Palae Say and Kamiliah Townsend 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
The junior varsity team swept the Archers 4-0 and improved to 5-0 as well.

Knights boys and girls win track meet over Braves
Norwell took a win at home over Northeast 8 Conference for Bellmont in track Tuesday night.
The boys won 109-23 and the girls won 94-24

Tigers split in track meet with Patriots
Bluffton split in track and field at Jay County Tuesday night.
The boys won 97-26 and the girls lost 77-46.

Patriots squeeze out win against Knights in baseball
Norwell fell to Jay County on the road in baseball Tuesday night.
The Knights lost 6-5, allowing four runs in the fifth frame to give the Patriots the lead for good. Norwell falls to 5-3 on the season.
Drew Graft and Lane Lewis stole the show with the bats, as Graft homered and doubled in the game for one RBI, while Lewis had two doubles. Adam McBrie went 1-1 with an RBI, Noah Schamerloh and Korben Neuenschwander had the other RBI.
Drew Jolley got the loss, throwing two innings and allowing two runs (one earned), two hits, a walk and a strikeout. Ryne Thornton threw four innings and allowed four runs (three earned) with five hits and four strikeouts.
Norwell will host Homestead at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 18.
Jay County edges out Tigers by one in golf at Timber Ridge
Jay County snubbed Bluffton by one stroke at Timber Ridge Tuesday night.
The Tigers scored a 189 and the Patriots 188.
Connor Klopfenstein was the medalist and leader for the Tigers, shooting at 40. Kade Abbett and Max White were second at 59, Kyler Potter fourth at 51 and Anthony Hartman 59.
The Tigers also lost the junior varsity match 212-243. Christian Castaneda was the top scorer at 55, followed by Landon Crist (60), Connor Landis (63), Hutch Craighead (65) and Graham Linderwell 69. Will Ault shot a 55 in the second JV match.
Bluffton will visit Southwood at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 17.
Tigers defeated by Apaches in softball
Bluffton fell in softball 6-4 at Wabash Tuesday night.
The Tigers had 11 hits and were led by multi-hit games from Tressa Renner, Averi Petty and Madyson Sonnigsen. Sonnigsen had two RBI with a home run, and Isabella Stout drove in two runs.
Petty earned the loss, throwing six innings for the Tigers.
Bluffton will host South Adams 5 p.m. Thursday, April 18.
Raiders drop to Starfires
Southern Wells dropped a non-conference game against South Adams 17-11 at home on Monday.
Of the 12 hits for Southern Wells, Jakob Gearheart led the way with a 3-4 game with a double and four RBI. Landon Johnson, Caleb Johnson and Wyatt Yoder had multi-hit games. Both Johnson’s had doubles and an RBI. Peyton Bertsch went 1-3 with an RBI.
Yoder got the loss for the Raiders.
Bertsch threw 4.1 innings in relief, allowing five hits and three runs (one earned) and struck out four.
Southern Wells will travel to Adams Central for its first ACAC matchup of the season starting at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 18.
Tigers beat Squires in middle school track
Bluffton defeated Manchester in middle school track Monday night.
The boys won 94-18 while the girls won 71-40.

Tigers, Apaches tie in JV softball
Bluffton and Wabash tied in junior varsity softball at home Tuesday night.
The Tigers’ record moves to 1-1-1 on the season.
Ella Borror and Kierstnn Reed led the way with two hits. Borror had two doubles in the game. Piper Morgan and Jillian Phillippe tripled home a run. Addison Gehring and Reese Turnbull. while Addison Kauffman doubles.
Turnbull started on the mound for the Tigers and struck out two. Kinlee Taylor finished the game on the mound, striking out 4 batters.
Knights fall to Lions in MS golf
Norwell’s Middle School golf team lost to Leo 243-246 Monday night.
Norwell was led by Isaiah Geoglein’s score of 43, followed by Eli Sonnigsen (44), Tripp Mitchell (50), Reid Bolyn (50), Vivian Reidenbach (59) and Emma Burnau (62).

Norwell’s Middle School soccer teams split at Summit Monday night.
The girls won 2-0 with goals by Vivian Branham and Kaylee Bennett. Maggi Neuenschwander and Phoenix Whitsitt earned the shutout in net.
