It was a fantastic week this week, celebrating the Wells Community Pool’s 50th season. The weather was perfect, and it was so lovely to see so many of you enjoying your time with us. The staff was very busy this year between group swim lessons, lap swim times, swim team practices, pool rentals, water aerobics, private swim lessons, and being open seven days a week. Almost every night in July hosted a private pool party, and once those filled up, we started scheduling morning rentals. We want to thank the community for another year of your support, and we look forward to serving you again next year. As a reminder, tomorrow is our last day since all our employees return to school. If you are still looking for places to cool off, the Splash Pads will remain open through Labor Day.

We got some great news earlier this week when we learned that we had been awarded a grant from the Wells County Foundation to provide funding for the disc golf/foot golf course at Lancaster Park from the Community Enhancement Endowment Fund. We are so thankful for the Foundation’s continued support. The park construction has been going amazingly, and we are very excited to offer new activities and sports for the community to enjoy.

We also want to thank Walmart for awarding us a $1,000 grant that will be applied towards improvements at the park. We are so thankful to have businesses that improve the quality of life in the cities they serve.

While we are being thankful, we want to be sure and thank the Bluffton Harrison Metropolitan School District, which served 2,012 meals this summer. We love hosting this program at Roush Park, knowing that the kids who stop by get a nutritious meal while they enjoy our events. This has been a wonderful partnership, and we appreciate all their hard work.
