The Northeast Indiana Water Trail group has set a new location for the social paddle due to a downed tree blocking the river. They will meet on July 19 at Hiney’s Bend on the Salamonie River. This paddle is approximately 3.5 miles long and will take about 1.25 hours to complete.
Put in at the boat ramp at 5700 S 400 W, Warren, IN. The put-in is off a gravel road on the right side of S 400 W. The takeout is on the left side of the road. The really great thing about this paddle is that it is only a 10-minute walk from the put-in to the take-out. However, they will still offer a shuttle service should anyone need to take advantage of it. The group will shove off at 6 p.m. sharp. Please give yourself time to drop your boat, then park at the takeout and either walk or be shuttled back. Contact them at neiwatertrails@gmail.com if you need a shuttle.
Our maintenance crew, with the help of the Street Department, has been working on the large diamond at Jefferson Park. The gates to the diamond will be closed for the next few weeks as we plant grass and give it a chance to get established.
As a reminder, the 4-H Fair is this week. They always do an amazing job, so be sure to support them.
Have a great week!
