Sarah Stutzman, 60, of Berne, passed away Saturday morning, June 10, 2023, at Swiss Village in Berne.
Sarah was born July 15, 1962, in Bluffton to William Langel & Phyllis (Barnett) Langel-Pease. She graduated from New Life Christian High School in 1980 and was a member of First Missionary Church in Berne.
Sarah and Gregory Lacy were married June 4, 1990, in Bluffton and he preceded her in death July 5, 1991. On April 20, 1996, Sarah and Jonathan Stutzman were married in Berne.
Sarah was a homemaker, enjoyed being around children of all ages, and had a love for animals, especially her dog, Princess. Sarah enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, reading, and cross-stitching.
Survivors include her husband, Jonathan Stutzman of Berne; her mother, Phyllis Pease of Bluffton; siblings, Timothy (Linda) Langel of Berne, Catherine (Kelley) Householder of Bluffton, Beth (Carl) Waterman of Coatesville; and stepsisters, Gloria (Noel) Phegley of Columbia City, and Janet (Herb) Heyerly, of Bluffton; along with several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, William Langel; stepfather, John Pease; and brother Donald Langel.
Visitation will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton.
Funeral Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the First Missionary Church in Berne with Pastor Jim Schwartz officiating. There will be visitation held at the church starting at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Burial will follow at Six Mile Cemetery in Bluffton.
Memorials may be made in Sarah’s memory to Muscular Dystrophy Association to further research in myotonic dystrophy. Memorials can be directed to the funeral home.
