Well Elvis has left the building and didn’t we all have a great time? There were about 77 in attendance with only about five being kids. This event they will never forget as the girls were given flower leis by Brent Cooper who did a fantastic job on the stage as he sang and narrated the life of Elvis Presley. Thanks to him and Jamie Benya who helps him with his programs.

We expected a much larger crowd but there are so many things to do so if you missed him at Lighted Gardens take a look at his Facebook page. He will be at his home church in Fort Wayne for a free concert on the last Saturday of August so you may be able to meet him there.

Thanks to Jerry and his crew for being our host at Lighted Gardens. This is a wonderful place to have an event close to home.

By the time you read this our annual Lions Club 5K will be over for another year and now we will concentrate on upcoming events in Zanesville.

The Zanesville youth program will begin soon. The Zanesville Community Church of God’s annual Centershot archery program will begin on July 10. Then comes our big Zanesville 175th Birthday Celebration on Saturday, July 29. Remember to call me to volunteer at 638-4327.

Come on over to the Lions Baseball Park and get acquainted with the teams playing here and Tom Truitt.

Our condolences to Arthur Behning at the death of his sister Gertrude “Trudy” Behning. Trudy passed away on May 4 at the age of 85. She was a resident of Fort Wayne and lived a very active life. Besides her brother who lives just a little west of Zanesville, she is survived by nieces and nephews and their spouses and children. We extend our condolences to them also.
