It’s that time of year when our department works on overdrive, tackling our massive list of tasks that need to get accomplished before school gets out. As we reflect on all that needs to get done, we are so grateful that volunteers have been pouring in to help. The community support has been a tremendous blessing in cleaning up the parks so that we can focus on getting the pool up and running, installing the funbrellas, and working new diamond dirt into the ball fields.
Our most recent group of helpers were the kind folks from Hope Missionary Church who volunteered at Roush Park last Saturday. They hoped to repaint the concession stands for us, but the weather wasn’t cooperating, so instead, they picked up trash and pulled weeds. We appreciate you.
If you haven’t stopped by the Angel of Hope recently, you should check out the new plantings around the park. Special thanks to the Wells County Foundation for spearheading the project to freshen up the flower beds with new shrubbery and perennials and to Outdoor Concepts, who quickly got the job done.
Last week wrapped up our 5-week Senior Snippet Sessions. We want to thank our presenters who made this program possible: Catherine Campbell, Emily Marshall, Molly Hoag, Bill Horan, Janel Franks, Connie Brubaker, Kathy Gehrett, and all of the exchange students at Norwell who shared about their lives in their home country. If you have a particular interest or hobby you would like to share; please contact us at 824-6069 when we offer another five weeks of classes in the fall.
