PSAP Advisory Board will meet Tuesday morning
The Public Safety Answering Point Advisory Board will meet at 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, in in Room 105, the multi-purpose room on the lower level of the Wells Carnegie Government Annex, 223 W. Washington St.
Topics on the agenda include:
• Directors’ report.
• Discussion on future review of policies and the interlocal agreement.
• Review of the 911 director’s job description, brought to the board by Sheriff Scott Holliday.
• GIS information, brought to the board by Kaleb Dienelt, information technology consultant to the city of Bluffton.
• Information on livestreaming board meetings.
Bluffton Parks Board will meet Thursday evening
The board of the Bluffton Parks and Recreation Department will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 1, in the conference room on the first floor of City Hall, 128 E. Market St.
• Superintendent’s report.
• Activities report.
• Yarn bombing was installed at the Wells Community Pool, which included work by 10 artists.
• Interurban Trail cracks were resealed and crossing areas were repainted by the Street department.
• Full-time Parks Department staff have been recertified in CPR.
• A new chemical pump has installed at the pool and repairs have been made to the pool heater.
• New toilets have been installed at Roush Park to fix the plumbing issue.
• Indiana Department of Transportation approval has been granted for the Interurban Trail, which will be going to bid soon.
• Water aerobics Instructor Teresa Moser.
• Rock Steady Boxing instructor Taylor Mayott.
• Kehoe Park Trail repair and sealing.
• 2024 budget review.
• Groundbreaking for the Lancaster Park improvements will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 2.
Area Plan Commission will meet Thursday evening
The Wells County Area Plan Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 1, in Room 105, the multi-purpose room on the lower level of the Wells Carnegie Government Annex, 223 W. Washington St.
Topics on the agenda include:
• A request from Barkley Properties LLC for a zoning change to R-3 (residential) for property at 126 E. Lafever Street in Ossian. The property is currently zoned B-1 (business).
• A request from OD Inc. for a major subdivision for property on the south side of Wells County Road 850N near Ind. 1. The property is zoned I-1 (industrial). The agendaq includes a request for the granting of secondary approval rights to the three-lot major subdivision.
• A review of five violations.
• Updates on the comprehensive plan, revitalization, and housing study.
Bluffton Board of Works will not meet Tuesday
The Bluffton Board of Public Works and Safety will not meet Tuesday, May 30, due to a lack of a quorum.
The board usually meets weekly each Tuesday afternoon at City Hall. The board’s next meeting will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 6.
