Joan F. Abbott, 92, of Montpelier, died Saturday, April 1, 2023 at IU Health Blackford Hospital in Hartford City. She was born Feb. 22, 1931, in Blackford Co. She married Robert Abbott March 20, 1955.
Joan is survived by her daughters, Rhonda (Barry) Bower, Markle, Cathy (Ed) Yoder, Greenfield; sons, Robert (Ann) Abbott, Jr., Walkerville, Mich., Rodney Abbott, Montpelier, Randy (Patty) Abbott, Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Payne, Hartford City; brothers, Lowell “Buck” Sharp, Hartford City, James “Jim” Sharp, Hartford City, Joe Sharp, Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Abbott; parents, John, and Helen (Bedwell) Sharp; brothers, Jack Sharp, Lee Sharp, Charles Sharp; and sisters, Norma Smith, Dorothy Heck, and Arlene Kirkwood.
Visitation will be held at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W. Windsor St. Montpelier, IN. 47359, on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023, with Pastor Earl Doll officiating. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory in Muncie.
