We had some light snow and maybe that will be the last this year. We could have used a lot less wind this winter as it makes cold weather unbearable.
We are getting ready for the Easter Egg Hunt on April 1, the Lions 5K on May 27, and our big celebration on Saturday, July 29 so mark your calendars.
The Easter Egg Hunt is free on Saturday, April 1, at the Lions Club ballpark on 3088 W. VanHorn Street. The hunt begins promptly at 1 p.m. and just a few minutes after, there are lots of games for the kids to play inside the clubhouse. The hunt is for children up to 14 years old and the games are for anyone who wants to play them. The Easter Bunny just may be on hand for pictures.
In case of terrible weather, we will postpone the hunt until the next Saturday which is April 8.
The Zanesville Lions Free Library will be open inside and out for you to pick up some books to take home. Games will be open until 3 p.m. You will get credit for two tickets for every game you play and that number can be used for game prizes. You can purchase our Pizza Hut punch cards at the hunt also.
Martha Jean “Granny” Thomas died March 5 at the age of 94. She and her husband lived a long time on the old Thomas property just three miles south of Zanesville.
All men and boys of this area are invited to come and join in on food and fellowship for the final Men’s Lenten Breakfast that will be held Saturday morning, March 25, at the Tower Life Center on Wayne Street. Breakfast is served at 8 a.m. A short program will follow.
Don’t forget to get started on your family histories. Hand them to me anytime. I do have a few Zanesville History Books for sale. I have to charge $20 each for them as the copies are more expensive now. We did them in 1976.
