Thomas T. “Tom” Thompson, 76, of Bluffton, a former resident of Berne, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. 

He was born Aug. 28, 1946, in Fort Wayne, to Richard H. Thompson and Alice Fletcher Thompson.

Tom was a devout Catholic and a member of the St. Mary’s of the Presentation Church in Geneva.  He formerly attended First Missionary Church in Berne.

For the past five years he attended church at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bluffton.

Tom worked at Swiss Village for many years. Prior to his employment there, he worked at the Hobby House in Fort Wayne.

Survivors include his friend Preston (Katie) Brubaker of Bluffton and his loving Bi-County family.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Thompson.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bluffton with Father David Violi officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s of the Presentation Catholic Cemetery in Geneva. 

Friends will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the church prior to the Mass.

Preferred memorials can be given to Swiss Village or Bi-County Services.
