City:
Friday, 1:17 p.m., Budget Inn, 1090 N. Main St. Deputy served a warrant for arrest on William Lee Myers, 40, listed as homeless, on one count of impersonating a public servant, a Level 6 felony.
Friday, 7:42 p.m., Hardee’s restaurant, 211 N. Main St. Management requested man be warned for criminal trespass on the property.
Friday, 9:51 p.m., parking lot of Wings Etc., 657 N. Main St. Officer pulled over a vehicle and arrested Heather Rene Scott, 43, Kendallville, on one count of driving while suspended, a Class A misdemeanor. No bond set.
Friday, 10:01 p.m., Main Street at Dustman Road. Cones and barrels over a hole in the road had been moved. Officer dispatched and put them back over the hole.
Saturday, 12:09 a.m., residence on Westgate Road. Sheriff’s deputies served warrants for arrest on Donald Wayne Wells Jr., 24, and Mary Anna Marsillett, 24, both of the Westgate address, on one count each of disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor. Bond for each was set at $1,000.
Saturday, 11:49 a.m., residence in the 400 block of West Wiley Avenue. Burglar alarm. Officer responded. No sign of foul play found.
Saturday, 5:14 p.m., Main Street at Washington Street. Officer pulled over a vehicle for having an expired license plate. The driver also reportedly had marijuana in the vehicle. Charges pending.
Sunday, 6:36 a.m., residence in the 1300 block of Clark Avenue. Caller reported seeing lights on in the residence, but no one was supposed to be home. Officer checked but found no signs of foul play.
Sunday, 4:52 p.m., Walmart Supercenter, 2100 N. Main St. Store security caught a male shopper switching the universal price code symbols on merchandise with less expensive price codes. The man was briefly detained. Charges pending.
Sunday, 6:54 p.m., Pine Grove apartments. Officer helped a mother catch her nine-year-old boy and return him home.
Monday, 4:42 a.m., Wells County Courthouse, 102 W. Market St. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. Alarm malfunctioned.
Monday, 6:27 a.m., 1600 block of North Main Street. Badly injured deer lying in the street creating a traffic hazard. Officer noted upon arrival that it appeared a vehicle had hit the deer and left the scene. Officer put down the deer and dragged it out of the road.
Monday, 9:02 a.m., 1600 block of North Main Street. Caller reported while she was driving to work she thought someone had thrown something at her car, breaking off one of the sideview mirrors. The location was the same area as where the dead deer was found.
Monday, 11:40 a.m., residence in the 400 block of West Wiley Avenue. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. Alarm tripped accidentally.

Friday, 1:17 p.m., 100N east of 600E. Caller reported seeing two women fist fighting and pulling each other’s hair in the middle of the road. One of the women threw items onto the road that had been inside a green Ford Escape and the other woman was picking up the items. Both then got back into the Escape and left. Deputy stopped the Escape on 100N just west of the Adams County line and recognized the two women from past law enforcement encounters. He noted in his report that the two had been in an “on-again/off-again” romantic relationship. While both women allegedly admitted to having been in an argument, they both denied they had been fist fighting. Both were detained briefly. The deputy also reported smelling an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle reportedly turned up a small bag of a green-leafy substance with the odor and appearance of marijuana. Information taken for a report with charges pending.
Friday, 6:56 p.m., Temp Masters, 5975N-300W. Burglar alarm. Deputy responded. Cleaning crew tripped the alarm.
Friday, 8:25 p.m., residence on 400N west of 200E. Report of a man screaming. Sheriff’s deputies responded. Situation calmed. Man warned for disorderly conduct.
Saturday, 4:07 a.m., residence on 100E north of U.S. 224. Burglar alarm. Sheriff’s deputies responded. Alarm accidentally tripped.
Ossian:
Saturday, 11:45 p.m., residence in the 400 block of Greenwood Trail, Sandalwood subdivision, Ossian. Verbal altercation between an estranged husband and wife. Sheriff’s deputy responded. Situation calmed, parties separated.
ACCIDENTS
County:
Saturday, 6:10 a.m., Ind. 116 northwest of 150N. Scott A. Gase, 53, Uniondale, hit a deer with his 2023 Ford F-150. Damage to the pickup truck exceeded $5,000.
Saturday, 6:30 a.m., Ind. 201 north of Elm Grove Road. A southbound vehicle struck a deer sending it flying into the side of a 2014 Toyota Tundra driven by Mark A. Fluekiger, 58, Culver. Damage to the pickup truck exceeded $1,000. The southbound vehicle did not stop.
Saturday, 2:13 p.m., 300W at the Wabash Central Railroad crossing in Liberty Center. Xamor Demi, 31, Naperville, Ill., was driving a semi registered to Alpha Lines LLC, Lyons, Ill., when she realized she was lost and tried to turn around the 2023 Kenworth T680. In doing so, she knocked over the railroad crossing lights, damaged the side of the trailer, including the tires and rims, and pulled out the trailer brake lines. Damage exceeded $5,000.

Saturday, 1:04 p.m., River Terrace Estates, 400 Caylor Blvd. Fire alarm. Bluffton Fire Department responded. Resident pulled the alarm.
Saturday, 11:02 p.m., 1300 block of West Central Avenue. Smell of natural gas in the air. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. Leak traced to area of the 500-600 block of Beth Avenue. Northern Indiana Public Service Company contacted.
Monday, 10:16 a.m., 10 Pine Grove. Fire alarm. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. No fire. Alarm malfunctioned.
ARRESTS
Stephanie Lynn Jarrett, 28, Bluffton; probation violation. No bond set.
Avita Monchel Adams, 39, Fort Wayne; driving while suspended with a prior conviction for the same offense, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $1,500.
