‘For real stories’ will be offered at Promenade

For folks who would like to share a hilarious story the Maumee, Mary, & Joseph Comedy Festival will be sponsoring some evenings to do so at the Park Foundation Pavilion at Promenade Park in Fort Wayne.

Dates chosen include Thursday, Jan. 12 and Thursday, Feb. 9, from 8 to 9:30 p.m. each evening. Participants must be at least 18 years of age.

Macrame bottle holders to be made at Promenade Park

Participants may create their own multi-purpose macrame bottle holder at a class being offered at Promenade Park in Fort Wayne.

Supples of pre-cut cord, beads, fairy lights, an empty wine bottle and a jar as well as step-by-step instructions will be provided.

The class will be presented on Sunday, Feb. 5, from 1 to 3 p.m. for those age 13+ and older. Pre-registration is required and the cost is $20. Information and registration at RiverfrontFW.org.

Free board game fun for all ages on tap at Promenade

Promenade Park in Fort Wayne also will be offering opportunities to play board games at Park Foundation Pavilion on the third Tuesdays of the month.

Now scheduled are Jan. 17 and Feb. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Headwaters park ice        skating hours listed

Fort Wayne’s Headwaters Park Ice Skating Rink hours are as follows:

• Tuesday through Thursday, 3 to 8 p.m.

• Friday and Saturday, noon to 9 p.m. 

• Sunday, noon to 8 p.m.

Admission is $3 for those age 13 and younger, $6 for those 14 and older with $3 for skate rental.

There is no charge to be a spectator or for parking.

Kids skate free days are the Tuesdays of Jan. 17, Jan. 31, and Feb. 14. Information at www.fortwayneparks.org

Wild walkers to take virtual hikes three upcoming days

Join Naturalist Amanda on Facebook Live for the Lindenwood Lunchtime Virtual Hikes every “teenth” Thursday at noon.

Dates include Jan. 19, Feb. 16 and March 16.

Hikers will enjoy the scenery of the woods and learn about local nature from the comfort of your chair.
