The grass rigs from both Ossian and Bluffton fire departments work together to extinguish a field fire in soybean stubble on 300N just east of Lancaster Central Elementary School Thursday. The fire was paged out at 1:35 p.m. and burned about three acres of stubble before being contained by the firefighters, who also had help from a farmer with a big four-wheel drive tractor and a large tillage tool. The fire started as a controlled burn at a new house construction site and spread northeast. (Photo by Glen Werling)
