Lots of things are happening here in Zanesville.

The Coffee Cafe is still open all weekday mornings from 7:30 to 10 a.m. and all are welcome to come and enjoy the fellowship with friends and neighbors It’s a good place to acquire new friends.

The Zanesville Lions Club is still selling its apple dumplings, Pizza Hut punch card, and the McDonald’s coupon book. The card and the coupons are good for the remainder of the year. These are all fundraisers for the Zanesville Lions Club Park.

The apple dumplings are available again at the County Line Pizza and Pub in downtown Zanesville during business hours. They are open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. They also have great pizza and I like the sausage roll!

It’s time for sign-ups for the Upward basketball program at the Tower Life Center Church. Check out their Facebook page or their website for details.

The Zanesville Lions have set a tentative date for their annual Halloween party and it is Monday, Oct. 31, at 6:30 p.m. at the park. Town Trick or Treat hours should be over by 6 p.m. and then you can have your costumes judged for cash prizes at the party at 6:30 p.m. The Lions party is free for all ages with food, bingo and cash prizes.

Time just passes on so quickly. It’s been 20 years since a few of us started the ball rolling to make Lafayette Central School a charter school and we almost succeeded. We were turned down after the last application papers were in. I wonder what “would have been” if we had succeeded?
