Tuesday, 4:44 p.m., laundromat at 112 E. Walnut Street. Report of juveniles inside vandalizing the laundromat. Officers responded. Located the youth. Incident investigated.
Tuesday, 5:55 p.m., Farm Credit Services, 1319 Baker Place. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. No sign of foul play found.
Tuesday, 11:42 p.m., Wells County Government Annex, 223 W. Washington St. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. No sign of foul play found.
Wednesday, 2:56 a.m., residence in the 500 block of West Cherry Street. Caller reported someone was shining a laser beam into the windows of the residence. Officer responded and checked the area but did not see anyone.
Wednesday, 7:28 a.m., Capri Meadows apartments. Report of an intoxicated, bloody shirtless man roaming around the area. Officers responded, located the man requested EMS dispatched to the scene. The man was also warned for trespassing at the apartment complex and information was taken for a report.
Wednesday, 10:26 a.m., Richard’s Restaurant, 105 Charles Deam Court. Man fell inside the front door. Officers, Wells County EMS and Bluffton Fire Department first responders dispatched.
Wednesday, 11:19 a.m., Richard’s Restaurant, 105 Charles Deam Court. Officers arrested Patricia Michelle Chandler, 49, Bluffton, on a warrant out of Huntington County for failure to appear for fines and costs in connection with a July 13, 2021, sentencing in Huntington County Superior Court for identity deception, a Level 6 felony.

Saturday, 7:43 p.m., Ind. 3 near 900S. Kevin T. Mast, 29, Fort Wayne, hit a deer with his 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. Damage exceeded $1,000.
Monday, 8:39 p.m., 300W near 400S. Rachael A. Guenin, 26, rural Warren, hit a deer with a 2008 Kia Sedona. Damage exceeded $1,000.
Tuesday, 5:49 p.m., Ind. 1 north of U.S. 224. A stopped 2006 Toyota Avalon, driven by Aziz Bin Abdullah, 48, Warsaw, came to a stop in a line of traffic and was hit from behind by a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Brianna J. Bennett, 18, Bluffton. No one was injured. Damage exceeded $1,000.
Ossian:
Saturday, Oct. 15, 8:14 p.m., Ossian All American Deli, 404 N. Jefferson St. Gage M. Allen 27, rural Bluffton, backed a 2014 Ford Focus out of a parking space and backed into the driver’s side of 2016 Chevrolet Equinox at the gas pumps. The sport utility vehicle had been driven by Jill A. Beckman, 45, Bluffton. Damage exceeded $2,500.
Wednesday, 10:50 a.m., Jefferson Street at Dyar Road. Joseph J. Romay La Porte, 23, Houston, Texas, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu south on Jefferson Street when he realized he missed his turn at Dehner Drive and hit his brakes. The Malibu was then hit from behind by a 2011 GMC Yukon driven by Kaytlyn M. Kreider, 29, Fort Wayne. Damage exceeded $2,500.
FIRES
Tuesday, 8:32 p.m., 100W between 500N and Uniondale. REMC transformer pole on fire near the top. Uniondale Fire Department dispatched and stood by until a crew from REMC could arrive and cut the power.
Wednesday, 2:58 a.m., Oak Road west of 300W. REMC electric pole on fire with line down on the ground and arcing. Markle Fire Department dispatched and stood by until an REMC crew could arrive and cut power.
Wednesday, 10:15 a.m., Bluffton Middle School, 1500 Stogdill Road. Fire alarm. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. No fire. Dust from construction set off the alarm.
ARRESTS
Mary Jane Whited, 36, Fort Wayne; possession of cocaine or some other narcotic drug, a Level 6 felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class B misdemeanor. Bond set at $6,000.
James Duwayne Douglas, 40, Union City, Ohio; operating a motor vehicle while never having received a driver’s license, a Class C misdemeanor. Bond set at $500.
Justin David More, 27, Bluffton; probation violation. No bond set.
