Markle firefighters look over the remains of a torn-down house occluded in thick white smoke at 10501 N. Marzane Road, about a mile and a half south of Zanesville Thursday. The burn reportedly started out as a controlled burn but started threatening surrounding structures at the property of Timothy and Judith McAfee. The Markle Fire Department was dispatched at 3:14 p.m. and requested mutual aid from Uniondale and Southwest Allen County fire departments.
