It was a bit chilly for downtown Bluffton’s Chili Walk late Saturday afternoon as chili tasters were able to sample 13 varieties before selecting a favorite.
After all of the tasting was concluded Achieva Salon’s was voted the tastiest with The Stag Bar taking second place and the Parlor City Brewing Company taking third.

Seven of those serving were set up at the Parlor City Plaza, under tents, while the other six served from their own sites.
Those set up at the Plaza were Peyton’s, Achieva Salon, Best Days Travel, USAlternator, Body Magic Massage, Bi-County Services and The Hideaway.
The Hideaway brought its food truck to serve its chili from. Servers were Siera Gregg, at left, and Kylie Baumgartner.
Chili servers at their own establishments were Fraxion Apparel & Home, Steffen Group, Parlor City Brewing Co., Stag Bar & Grill, Resource Maintenance and Wells County Republican Headquarters.
It was a mother-daughter serving team at Fraxion at Saturday’s Chili Walk in downtown Bluffton. Kristy Bardsley and Rachel Bardsley dished up their Secret Ingredient Chili to visitors. It was their first time to participate in the Chili Walk.
At the Parlor City Brewing Company Chris Bryant, at left, was adding some more chili to the serving pot as Layann Harris did the serving. Parlor City’s chili took 3rd place.
The Stag Bar brought its serving table outside offering quesadilla triangles along with the chili to earn second place honors.
Voting concluded at 6:45 p.m., with the winner declared shortly thereafter.
The Roustabouts provided the music on the Plaza stage beginning at 7:15 p.m.
At the conclusion of the chili tasting the Roustabout Band offered the musical entertainment at the Parlor City Plaza. (All photos by Barbara Barbieri)
