City:

Thursday, 4:56 p.m., 1300 block of Sunnyglenn Court. Man reported being bitten by his neighbor’s dog.

Thursday, 5:28 p.m., Perry Street at Marion Street. Report of a juvenile on a bicycle hit by a car. Wells County EMS, officers and Bluffton Fire Department fire rescue dispatched. The youth had minor injuries and declined transport to the hospital. He was warned for having no brakes on the bike.

Thursday, 8:36 p.m., Marion Street at Market Street on the midway of the Bluffton Free Street Fair. Report of a group of adults and juveniles trying to fight each other. Officers responded. The combatants had separated before officers arrive.

Friday, 9:38 a.m., Walmart Supercenter, 2100 N. Main St. Caller reported her Ford Edge was hit by a shopping cart.

Friday, 10:47 a.m., residence in the 500 block of South Indiana Street. Report of a fight between a man and a woman. Parties had separated but then reportedly another verbal altercation related to the first broke out at Roush Park, 925 W. Silver St. When officers went to check that out, the parties had separated again.

Friday, 9:22 p.m., Market Street at Johnson Street. Fist fight between several juveniles. The altercation broke up before officers arrived.

County:

Friday, 7:58 p.m., U.S. 224 east of 450E. Loose cows on the roadway. Deputy responded. Cows put back in their pen.

Friday, 11:40 a.m., Oak Road west of 300W. Someone dumped a whole pickup truck load of junk in a lane between two fields. Deputy observed that it appeared someone had likely cleaned out a storage unit and picked the lane at random to dump the contents of the unit.

Ossian:

Thursday, 11:54 p.m., Ossian BP station, 506 S. Jefferson Street. Man either asleep or passed out in a vehicle. Sheriff’s deputy located the man who said he was traveling from Cleveland to Indianapolis and became tired, so he decided to stop at the BP for a rest.

ACCIDENTS

City:

Thursday, 2:28 p.m., Williams Street at Wabash Street. Klint D. Fiechter, 41, Bluffton, was westbound in a 2008 Honda Odyssey van on Wabash turning left from Wabash Street onto Williams Street as Robert J. Donahoe, 30, Garrett, was driving a 2016 Toyota Corolla east on Wabash Street. The impact caused the Corolla to spin around. Total damage exceeded $2,500.

Friday, 9:06 a.m., SuperWash, 1704 N. Main St. Adam W. Schweikhardt, 48, Warren, backed a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck, registered to Citizens Telephone Corp., Warren, into SuperWash employee Edwin Gentry, 77, Bluffton, knocking him over. Gentry suffered back and shoulder injuries and had a scratch on his left shin. He was taken by Wells County EMS to Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Bluffton Fire Department first responders also dispatched. Damage was estimated at less than $1,000.

Friday, 12:04 p.m., Morgan Street at Spring Street. Collision between a van and a sport utility vehicle. Wells County EMS and Bluffton Fire Rescue dispatched. No further information available.

County:

Thursday, 7:52 p.m., Ind. 116 near 200N. Randall G. Gerber, 36, Bluffton, hit a deer with 2018 GMC Sierra pickup truck. Damage exceeded $5,000.

FIRE RUNS

Thursday, 10:04 p.m., rental mobile home at 405 Mary St. Caller reported smoke inside the mobile home. Ossian Fire Department responded and requested mutual aid from both Bluffton and Southwest Allen County. It was quickly determined that there was no fire and all fire departments were advised to disregard.

ARRESTS

Kaden Kaiser Kyle, 22, rural Poneto; two counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death, both Level 4 felonies. Bond set at $20,000.

Trista R. Smith, 21, Montpelier; 62 mph-55 zone, 300W south of 800S.

Leo R. Clor, 55, Huntington; 90 mph-55 zone, 600W north of 800S.

Christopher L. Flatford, 18, Frankfort; unlawful possession of tobacco by a minor, 100 block of East Perry Street.
