Two Republican caucuses were held Saturday as a clerk-treasurer for Ossian and a Jefferson Township trustee were selected.
Angie Ealing is the new Ossian clerk-treasurer, filling a vacancy that has existed since last December. Erika Allison resigned as the Ossian clerk-treasurer on Nov. 8, 2021; her resignation was effective Dec. 3.
Allison had served three years in the position after her predecessor, Jeannette Dickey, resigned due to health reasons. Allison had also been chosen by a caucus.
Larry Heckber was chosen as the new Jefferson Township trustee after Barry Gordon resigned. Heckber defeated Gordon by a 3-to-1 margin in the 2022 Republican primary.
Gordon served two terms as the Jefferson Township trustee.
