Criminal Cases

Carlos Edward Slater, 43, Bluffton, violated probation by testing positive for methamphetamine May 26 and May 29.

Ordered to serve 60 days in the Wells County Jail and pay $50 in fees. Credited for four days spent in confinement awaiting disposition of his case.

Upon completion of the terms of the sentence, his probation will be terminated.

Slater was originally sentenced Dec. 21, 2020, on one count of disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor.

Paula Thieman, 47, Bluffton, violated probation by testing positive for methamphetamine during a random drug screening Dec. 17, 2020, and by interfering with a random drug screening Jan. 7, 2021.

Ordered to serve 299 days in prison.

Thieman was originally sentenced May 4, 2020, on one count of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony.

Preliminary plea of not guilty entered for Kurt Andrews, 34, Fort Wayne, charged with two counts of theft, both Class A misdemeanors. Bond continued at $3,000.

On Nov. 28, 2017, Andrews is alleged to have walked into the Bluffton Lowe’s Home Improvement store, walked straight to the tool section and selected a DeWalt 5-piece cordless tool set from the shelf, walked out the store, ran to a waiting black Ford Taurus with a female driver and the vehicle sped away.

Then, on April 20, 2018, Andrews again reportedly entered the Bluffton Lowe’s Home Improvement store and placed a DeWalt power tool combination kit valued at $369 into a cart and immediately left the store. He is alleged to have cut the anti-theft device from the box and ran to a white Buick LeSabre and drove away.

The entire event was allegedly captured on the store’s video surveillance  system and was also witnessed by employees. Moreover, the Lowe’s loss prevention officer reportedly recognized Andrews from previous Lowe’s thefts.

At the time of the alleged theft, Thomas also had an outstanding warrant for theft out of Fort Wayne and had a prior conviction for the theft out of Williams County, Ohio.

Preliminary plea of not guilty entered for Selena Renee Fedock, 24, Fort Wayne, charged with failure to return to lawful detention, a Level 6 felony. Bond continued at $5,000. Allison Sprunger appointed public defender.

Fedock was sentenced July 15, 2021, to four days in the Wells County Jail following her plea of guilty to possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.

She was ordered to begin serving her sentence at the Wells County Jail Sept. 31, 2021, but allegedly she never showed up.

Because the primary witness in the case declined to cooperate with the state in its prosecution of the defendant, one count of battery, a Class B misdemeanor, was dismissed for Ronald Gene Mahon, 70, Bluffton.

Probation transferred from Huntington County to Wells County for Autumn R. Sweet, 36, Craigville, who is on probation to Feb. 20,2023, from a Huntington County Superior Court conviction for possession of methamphetamine and possession of a narcotic drug, both Level 6 felonies.

Ordered to report to a substance abuse counseling program and pay a monthly probation user’s fee and an an intrastate transfer fee.

Probation transferred from Huntington County to Wells County for Shannon R. McCormick, 39, Bluffton, who is on probation until May 25, 2023, on charges of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor..

Ordered to report to substance abuse counseling and the Maddy Victim Impact Panel, pay a probation transfer fee and a probation user’s fee.

James M. Wilson, 55, Bluffton; operating a motor vehicle without insurance, no valid driver’s license in his possession and improper or no headlights, Main Street at Wabash Street.

Brandy Singleton, 39, Ossian; owner allows a dog to stray beyond the owner’s property, Mill Street at Melching Street in Ossian.

Kylee N. Waldron, 26, Bluffton; no valid driver’s license in her possession and operating a motor vehicle without insurance, Ind. 1 at 1100N.

Complaint for payment of $5,335 filed by Eugene Dwight Gonzalez, Bluffton, against Todd and Elizabeth Shuman, Bluffton.

Complaint for damages in an amount to be determined by the court filed by Daniel Kozen against Edwin Pluimer, Montpelier, and John Pluimer, Montpelier. Suit is in connection with an accident Aug. 6, 2020, on Ind. 116 at 300W.

Complaint on note totaling $74,489 and to foreclose mortgage at 918 Jersey St. filed by J.P. Morgan Acquisition Corp., Anaheim, Calif., against Ryan Tuttle

Complaint for payment of $30,902.40 filed by Stephen Gould Corp. Fort Wayne, against Multi Fiber LLC, Indianapolis.

Wells Circuit Court

Criminal Cases

Preliminary plea of not guilty entered for Kobi M. Donnersbach, 23, Bluffton, charged with two counts of failure to appear in court, both Level 6 felonies. Held without bond. Pauper status denied.

On June 17, 2021, Donnersbach was charged with intimidation, a Level 6 felony, and ordered to appear in court at 9 a.m. May 25, 2021, for a hearing but allegedly failed to appear.

On Dec. 21, 2021, Donnersbach was charged with intimidation, wherein the defendant draws a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony; carrying a handgun without a license with a prior conviction for the same offense, a Level 5 felony; criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon, a Level 6 felony; pointing a firearm at another person, a Class A misdemeanor; and operating a motor vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalency of .08 percent or more, a Class A misdemeanor. He was scheduled to appear for a hearing at 9 a.m. May 25, 2022, but allegedly failed to appear for the hearing.
