On Saturday, June 25, the Wells County Master Gardener’s are offering folks a chance to visit four garden properties in the Bluffton area from noon to 4 p.m. A $5 ticket will allow access to all four sites which include: Javon Steffen, 228 East Dustman Rd.; Bob and Amy Greiner, 4320 SE SR 116; and Steve and Julie Harvey, 4344 SE SR 116 and Bob and Daphnie Dahl, 2598 East Maple Dr. (North Oaks).
Rain date will be Sunday, June 26th.
Approaching the back of Bob and Daphnie Dahl’s property it soon becomes very clear they are Disney fans, for there are dozens and dozens of small Mickey’s to discover as well as some small “fairy” gardens. Also nearby, at the left were a shovel and rake at the ready for preparing a garden for visitors.
A backyard pool will be a tempting site for visitors to check out as will the “food” shed, center, that features a McDonald’s Big Mac statue, a popcorn bush and food containers as planters beside it. The shed at right is the “planting” shed, where garden tools are stored. A fence around part of the property keeps friendly deer from nibbling on most of the garden plantings.
