Preliminary plea of not guilty entered for Jeffrey S. Priester, 39, Bluffton, charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor, operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalency of at least .08 percent but less than .15 percent, a Class C misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class c misdemeanor; possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor; and failure to yield the right of way, a Class C infraction.
Priester was driving a vehicle west on Dustman Road April 28, when he turned into the side of an eastbound vehicle at the intersection, causing a traffic accident.
The investigating officer observed in his report to the court that Priester smelled of alcohol, failed field sobriety tests, and blew a .089 percent alcohol concentration equivalency on a certified breath test performed at the Wells County Jail.
The legal limit for intoxication in Indiana is .08 percent.
During a vehicle inventory, prior to the towing of the vehicles, they reportedly located an individual serving size bottle of 99 Peaches liquor with a small amount of liquid still in it, tin container that allegedly contained a marijuana grinder, a clear plastic bag with two balls of a green leafy substance with the odor and appearance of marijuana, and Top’s rolling papers.

Preliminary plea of not guilty entered for Roger Moore Jr., 56, Bluffton, charged with operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalency of .15 percent or more, a Class A misdemeanor; operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor; and driving left of center, a Class C infraction. Bond continued at $1,500. Jeffrey Stineburg appointed public defender.
At 8:03 p.m. April 1, a Bluffton police officer reported seeing Moore on a small motorcycle round the curve on Wabash Street near Scott Street at a speed faster than the posted speed limit. He also observed the motorcycle cross the center line of the road and fail to signal a turn when it pulled into the parking lot of the Hardee’s restaurant.
The officer pulled his patrol vehicle in behind the motorcycle, got out and spoke with Moore, who allegedly admitted he had “a bit to drink.”
He allegedly failed a field sobriety test and declined to do any further tests. He also declined a portable Breathalyzer test at the scene.
A certified breath test taken at the Wells County Jail allegedly showed Moore’s alcohol concentration equivalency to be .225 percent, or between two and three times the legal limit for intoxication.

Preliminary plea of not guilty entered for Donta Jamar Willis, 25, Huntington, charged with knowingly or intentionally operating a motor vehicle without ever having received a driver’s license, a Class C misdemeanor; and operating a motor vehicle with an expired license plate, a Class C infraction.
While patrolling northbound on Main Street April 25, a sheriff’s deputy decided to perform a license plate check on a 2003 Ford Taurus in front of him bearing a Texas license plate. The officer discovered the plate was expired and pulled the vehicle over.
A check of Wills through the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles website confirmed that he had never been issued an Indiana driver’s license. He reportedly told the deputy that the state of Indiana would not give him a driver’s license, but he did not know why.

Preliminary plea of not guilty entered fpr Alex J. Skiles, 22, rural Bluffton, charged with driving while suspended with a prior conviction for the same offense, a Class A misdemeanor. Jeffrey Stineburg appointed public defender.
While patrolling northbound on North Main Street April 7, a sheriff’s deputy decided to perform a license plate check on the vehicle ahead of his patrol vehicle and discovered that the registered owner of the 2010 Chevrolet Impala, Skiles, had a suspended driver’s license. The officer pulled the vehicle over on Ind. 124 near Elm Grove Road.
Skiles allegedly admitted to the officer that he knew he had a suspended driver’s license but needed to get to work and his usual ride had been unable to take him that day.
Skiles’ previous conviction was in Wells Superior Court March 12, 2021 He reportedly has three active suspensions against his license and is not eligible for renewal until Feb. 11, 2024.
