ACCIDENTS

Poneto and Nottingham firefighters standby next to a massive fallen tree across Meridian Road about halfway between Ind. 218 and 700S south of Poneto Tuesday afternoon. The tree dragged down powerlines and closed the road for about an hour starting around 4:30 p.m. American Electric Power was called in to repair the lines. After AEP addressed that problem, they had another to tackle about a mile and a half southwest of there. A broken pole, right, along 100W south of 700S posed a bit of a traffic hazard as well. Both were felled during high winds in yesterday’s stormy weather. (Photo by Glen Werling)
