Wells County has been notified that it will be awarded an estimated $20,223 federal Emergency Food and Shelter Program  funds through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, as appropriated by Congress.

A local board will determine how the funds awarded to Wells County are to be distributed among local agencies in the area. The Local Board is responsible for recommending agencies to receive these funds. In anticipation of this award and deadlines, the local EFSP Board is encouraging local agencies that meet requirements to apply for the funds. 

Nonprofit organizations or public agencies interested in applying for Phase 39 and/or Phase ARPAR Emergency Food and Shelter Program funds must contact Local Board Chair Pamela Beckford, 122 LaMar St., Suite 118, Bluffton, IN 46714 or  pamela@unitedwaywells.org with a letter with the amount requested and whether it is for utilities, housing or food. The deadline for applications to be received is Monday, April 25.
