Plea of not guilty entered by John Wayne McCoy, 24, Fort Wayne, charged with possession of a narcotic drug, a Level 6 felony.
On April 21, 2021, sheriff’s deputies, Wells County EMS and Bluffton Fire Department first responders were called to the KOA Campground, 1625 W. Lancaster St., on a report of an unresponsive man. McCoy was the man and it was believed by the investigating deputy that he had possibly overdosed.
Five pills were found in an empty chewing tobacco tin that were later identified as the prescription painkiller oxycodone hydrochloride. McCoy did not have a prescription for the drug. He also allegedly admitted when being treated at the hospital that he had taken Percocet, a brand name for the prescription pills found in the tin.

Preliminary plea of not guilty entered for Keith A Greutzmacher, 41, Fort Wayne, charged with one count of driving while suspended with a prior conviction for the same offense, a Class A misdemeanor.
At 5:12 p.m. Jan. 14, sheriff’s deputies were notified of an aggressive driver northbound on Ind. 1 approaching Ossian. At Jefferson and Mill streets in Ossian, the vehicle in question reportedly made a U-turn and started to head back south. A sheriff’s deputy was northbound on Ind. 1 in his police vehicle at the time, spotted a white Chevrolet Malibu southbound matching the description from the complaint. The driver was wearing a white hat, which was also described by the complaining party.
The deputy followed as the vehicle continued southbound on Ind. 1 and performed a license plate check — discovering it was registered to Gruetzmacher, who had a suspended driver’s license.
The Malibu pulled into the McDonald’s restaurant drive through. The deputy waited nearby for the vehicle to exit the drive through, but after the driver and his passenger got their food, the driver in the white hat pulled into a parking space at the restaurant. The deputy exited his vehicle as the driver in the white hat exited the Malibu. The deputy called out to the man in the white hat and asked him if he was “Keith.” The man said he was.
The deputy reported that Greutzmacher’s prior suspension was issued in Koskiusko County March 28, 2014. Reportedly his only Indiana driver’s license expired April 4, 2002.
