Criminal Cases
Justin Lee Holley, 36, Bluffton, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.
Sentenced to a year in the Wells County Jail. In lieu of jail, ordered to serve 90 days of home detention. Ordered to pay court costs and probation fees.
As part of a plea agreement, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor, was dismissed.
On March 5, at the request of the Wells County Probation Department, several law enforcement officers performed the search of a residence occupied by a probationer. Holley was at the residence at the time of the search. Reportedly numerous drugs and items of drug paraphernalia were found in the home.
Holley was also entered into a contract to withhold prosecution/pre-trial diversion on one count of driving while suspended with a prior conviction for the same offense, a Class A misdemeanor.
Ordered to successfully complete a driver improvement program, take all steps necessary to have his driving privileges restored and pay costs and fees.
While on patrol April 3, a sheriff’s deputy reported seeing a motorcycle ahead of him fail to stop for the red light at the main entrance to the Bluffton Walmart Supercenter.
He pulled the motorcycle over in the parking lot of Walmart. Holley reportedly admitted to failing to stop but added he did so to prevent the cycle from stalling.
Holley had an indefinite suspension on his license for failure to pay child support and a previous conviction in Wells Superior Court for driving while suspended Feb. 14, 2014.

Preliminary plea of not guilty entered for Tanner M. Henderson, 29, listed as homeless, charged with two counts of battery to a public safety official, both Level 5 felonies. Bond continued at $20,000. Jeffrey A. Stineburg appointed public defender.
Henderson is alleged to have charged from his cell at the Wells County Jail Feb. 17 and attacked a jailer. When a second jailer came to the aid of the first, Henderson allegedly attacked him as well, giving both jailers concussions. The first jailer eventually subdued Henderson with a conducted electrical weapon.
Henderson reportedly admitted to a detective that the alleged attacks were unprovoked and reportedly was caught on surveillance video stating that he “just wanted to fight” and he would “do it again.” Later he reportedly told the detective he didn’t mean to do what he did.
