Norwell’s girls’ and boys’ swim teams defeated both Blackford and Blackhawk Christian in Monday’s double dual meet at Hartford City.
It was the Lady Knights’ final meet of the regular season. They defeated Blackford 113-55 and defeated Blackhawk Christian 116-33.
Norwell took first place in 10 of 12 events.
Karrigan Melcher won the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:25.9 and the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:38.25.
Ava Johnson won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:58.07. Ashlyne Shanks won diving with a score of 133.85. Ainsley Melcher won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:17.63. Cassie Coyne won the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:01.31. Riley Meredith won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:20.79.
Jillian Melcher, Riley Meredith, Emerson Meredith, and Aubreyan Heyerly won the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:08.92.
Coyne, Jillian Melcher, Emerson Meredith, and Heyerly won the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:52.97.
Haleigh Reinhard, Renee Fraze, Coyne, and Jillian Melcher won the 400 freestyle with a time of 4:17.9.
The Knight boys defeated Blackford 112-53 and defeated Blackhawk Christian 124-18. They took first place in nine of 12 events.
Thomas Garza won the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:14.25.
Marin Melcher won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:21.22.
Bodie Zimmer won diving with a score of 195.4.
Mikey Reidenbach won the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.44.
Ethan Williamson won the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:06.8.
Kale Meredith won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.53.
Brody Page, Kellen Zimmer, Reidenbach, and Jakob Peterson won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:47.83.
Page, Jakob Peterson, Sam Peterson, and Kellen Zimmer won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:41.2.
Carson Hiester, Page, Sam Peterson, and Kellen Zimmer won the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 4:02.63.
The Lady Knights will enter sectional competition on Thursday at Jay County with prelims. The boys return to the pool on Monday at Adams Central for their final meet of the season before sectional.
