The Wells County Swim team competed at Jay County on Tuesday night and won the meet overall.
WCST won by a combined score of 607-525. The boys won 345-213, while the girls lost 312-262.
There were also four records broken by individuals and teams that night.
First, the 200-meter freestyle relay team of Griffin Linderwell, Trenton Singleton, Rylan Heyerly and Kale Meredith broke their own 15-and-over mark from last week with a time of 1:54.39.
Then, Ellie Coyne broke the 13-14 age group team record in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:09.05, a record that was set in 2013. She also took the team and pool record in the 13-14 age group in the 50-meter breaststroke with a time of 39.36. This is the third time she has broken her own team record and as now broken a pool record.
Finally, Linderwell as an individual broke the 15-and-over group pool and team record in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:18.21. The prior record was set back in 2018.
