Tigers defeat Raiders in boys’ golf
Bluffton defeated Southern Wells at Timber Ridge Golf Course by 10 strokes Tuesday night.
The match was the final one of the regular season before heading into the sectional meet, which is also at Timber Ridge.
The Tigers shot a 200 and was led by Connor Klopfenstein’s 46 and was also the medalist. Following him was Declan Grieser (48), Kade Abbett (52), Kyler Potter (54) and Anthony Hartman (56).
Southern Wells was led by Tristen Worster with a 48, followed by Gabe McElhaney (51), Chandler Oswalt (55), Cash Banter (56) and Dirk Frauhiger (58).
In the junior varsity match, only two golfers went on either side. The Tigers had a 55 from Chris Castenada and a 56 from Will Ault. The Raiders had a 60 from Wade Tappy and a 65 from Josh Aulbach.
The sectional meet will start at 9 a.m. Friday, May 31.
Knights fall to Jets in golf in season finale
Norwell fell to Adams Central in golf at Timber Ridge Tuesday night.
This was the final regular season match before the sectional meet, which is at Timber Ridge.
The team scored a 182 compared to the Jets 182 and finished the season with an 8-4 record.
The Knights were led by Chase Hulvey with a 42, followed by Cooper Sloan and Phil Gaier (46), Bodie Zimmer (48) and Derek Smith (51)
Norwell’s next time out will be the sectional, which starts at 9 a.m. Friday, May 31.
Green Valley Tuesday Golf League results
Steve Folk, Wayne Close, Bill Foreman and George Thomas were the winning team with a -20 score in this week’s Green Valley Tuesday Senior Golf League.
Folk, Rick Murphy, Dave Willits and Bruce Warner all shared the low gross of 38. Close had the low net at 25, Willits the closest to pin and Arley Higginbottom with the longest putt.
