Fuess was the final piece of the trio of Crossroads League signees, with Kennedy Fuelling at Marian University and Dekota Hubble at Huntington University.

Fuess is a highly-touted recruit in the area for her scoring ability and quickness on the defensive side. She’s averaging 15.7 points per contest and just eclipsed the 1,000-point scoring mark two weeks ago.

What got Fuess to sign with the Cougars was the family atmosphere and culture around first-year head coach Jeremy Henney

“St. Francis is a very good program,” Fuess said. “I really like the girls there. They’re so supportive and coach Henney is amazing. He has a winning culture. He wants to put in the work and wants us to do good. I really like that.”

Henney served as an assistant coach for the men’s team under Chad LaCross and has his Cougars currently sitting at 12-8 and are 5-6 in the Crossroads League.

Fuess also said that she enjoyed the campus and St. Francis’ biology program.

Her high school basketball career isn’t quite done yet. The Knights will go for another sectional championship Saturday night against Bellmont in hopes of keeping the season alive and go further.

Norwell is led by the three college signees — Fuelling, Hubble and Fuess — and all three will be playing against one another at their schools down the road.

“It’s definitely going to be weird at first because we’ve always played together since we were in third grade,” Fuess said. “And now playing against each other, I think it will be a great opportunity for everyone.”
