The Bluffton boys’ swim team earned a double victory over Bishop Luers and Blackhawk Christian Thursday night.
According to head coach Justin Upgraft, every Tigershark put up points contributing to a 163 team score, followed by Luers with 103 and Blackhawk 17.
Leaders on the scoresheet were junior Ashton Arnett and freshman Noah Brooks scoring 19 points each. Max Worth scored 18 and put up personal bests, Dalton Rodgers and Elija Robles scored 17, Ethan Hunt 15.5, Logan Shearer 13, and Wes Frettinger 10.
Bluffton placed first in nine of the 12 total events.
Winners in the individual events were Austin Davis (diving), 200 freestyle A. Arnett, 50 freestyle Hunt, 100 freestyle Worth, 100 backstroke Brooks, and 100 breaststroke Robles.
In the medley relay race, Brooks, Robles, Rodgers, and A. Arnett got first, Hunt, Robles, Shearer, and Brooks won the 200 freestyle relay, and A. Asnett, Worth, Cole Arnett, and Rodgers won the 400 freestyle relay.
The Tigersharks will battle Adams Central at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6 at home.
The girls’ Tigersharks also won its meet against Bishop Luers and Blackhawk Christian. Bluffton had a team score of 125, Luers with 52, and Blackhawk 33.
Coach Hunter Cunningham said that not only did the team win, but every swimmer beat their personal best time in all of the races.
Senior Annika Linderwell led the team in points with 21, earning a perfect score, while junior Zoey Schmidt had 19 points.
In the individual races, Linderwell won the 200 and 400 freestyle. Schmidt won the 100 freestyle.
In relay races, the team of Lydia Athan, Mary Beth Zurcher, Claire Craighead, and Dakota Lee won the 200-medley relay. The 200 and 400 freestyle relay race of Olivia Priester, Linderwellm Schmidt, and Emma Frauigher won as well.
