Bluffton Board of Works to meet Tuesday afternoon
The Bluffton Board of Public Works and Safety will meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, in the meeting room on the first floor of City Hall, 128 E. Market St.
Topics on the agenda include:
• A discussion with Doug Williams about concrete repair.
• Review of city standards.
• Discussion of utility water.
• Updates on 427 W. Lancaster St., 817 S. Williams St., and 314 W. Cherry St.
• City Hall hours.
• Timber Ridge and Jackson Street water requests.x
• A request for a street closure, brought to the board by Ben Osborn.
• A request for a water adjustment at 1316 W. Central Ave.
• A discussion about 635 Daugherty St.
• A transfer of funds, requested by Street Commissioner Tim Simpson.
• A personnel matter, brought to the board by Police Chief Kyle Randall.
• Junk violations at 1202 W. South St., 417 Midway, and 417 N. Williams St.

Northern Wells school board will meet Tuesday
The board of the Northern Wells Community Schools will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Norwell High School, 1100E. U.S. 224.
Topics on the agenda include:
• Superintendent’s report on the middle school project.
• Personnel matters — two resignations and five hiring recommendations.
•Acceptance of donations.
• Revision to the emergency preparedness binder.
• Resolution for appropriations and tax rates.
• Consideration of a resolution to adopt the Capital Projects Fund plan for budget year 2023.
• Adoption of bus replacement plan.
• Consideration of a resolution to reduce 2022 budget appropriations.
After the regular meeting adjourns, a strategic work session will begin.
Prior to the regular meeting, the NWCS board will meet in an executive session starting at 4:15 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss collective bargaining and a job performance evaluation of individual employees. This subdivision does not apply to a discussion of the salary, compensation, or benefits of employees during a budget process.
Ossian Town Council won’t meet Monday evening
The Ossian Town Council will not meet Monday, Oct. 24.
Bluffton-Harrison school board won’t meet Monday
The board of the Bluffton-Harrison Metropolitan School District will meet Monday evening.
The board will not meet until Nov. 14.
