Norwell girls golf takes win, Southern Wells finishes second
The Norwell Lady Knights’ golf team hit the course at Timber Ridge Golf Course against Southern Wells and Eastbrook. Winning the event was Norwell with a score of 192. Sourthern Wells finished second shooting a 207, and Eastbrook finished with a 223.
Norwell’s Anna Dodane led all three schools shooting a 43, followed by Emma Dodane (48), Emily Heaston (50), Hayden Double (51), and Nevada Lenwell (53).
Leading the way for the Lady Raiders and second at the meet was Kayleigh Jones, shooting a 44, followed by Grace Meeks (46), Callie Ripperger (58), Hannah Duncan (59).
Norwell hosts Fort Wayne Wayne 5:30 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 18.
Southern Wells returns to the course 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23rd against Bluffton and Eastbrook at Timber Ridge Golf Course.
HN takes down Bluffton volleyball
Bluffton’s girls volleyball team lost at home to Huntington North in four sets.
Bluffton took the first set 28-26, then lost the next three 16-25, 17-25, 22-25.
Leading the way on the stat sheet for the Lady Tigers was Riley Couch with 13 digs, Emma Baumgartner with 20 assists, Lauren Reiff with 10 kills and four aces, and Maryn Schreiber with four aces and three blocks.
The junior varisty squad also took the floor against Huntington North and lost in three sets.
The Tigers were lead by Konley Ault with six digs, one block, three kills, and an ace
Bluffton will hit the floor again at Wabash at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug 18.
Green Valley Senior Golf
Steve Folk had a low gross of 40, and Doug Scher had a low net of 28 in the Tuesday Senior Golf League at Green Valley Golf Course.
Rick Murphy was the closest to pin, while Rich Borrer had the longest putt.
The winning team was Ron Bleving, Don Pettit, Mike Bennit, and Bruce Warner.
