Summer is almost over but life goes on and lots of things are happening before the snow flies.
The Coffee Cafe is open weekday morning at the Zanesville Community Church of God. Come and join in the fellowship. Everyone is welcome. It is open from 7:30 to 10 a.m.
Centershot continues on Sunday evenings at the north side of the church and all are welcome to come and observe this archery that begins at 6 p.m.
Getting the Zanesville Park ready for the Community Picnic Saturday, Aug. 27. Anyone that is available on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 21, is welcome to come and join in with the Zanesville Church of God and the Lions Club volunteers to spruce up the park and playgrounds. Mark your calendars!
Here is what is happening at the picnic:
A free community picnic will be held at the Zanesville Lions Community Park at 3088 W. VanHorn Street. The date is Saturday, Aug. 27. The fun begins with games from 1 to 4 p.m. with special activities for those under 10 years old.
Ongoing activities will be ballgames on the diamond, corn hole and horse basketball for all ages.
From 5 to 6 p.m. free food will be served. This will include hamburgers, hot dogs, cookies and pop.
Then from 6 to 7:30 p.m. we will be entertained with a concert presented by the group Jacob’s Well.
This afternoon community activity is co-sponsored by the Zanesville Community Church of God and the Zanesville Lions Club. For more information go to their Facebook pages or call 638-4327.
Remember that school has begun at both the Southwest Allen and the Northern Wells high school and elementary. Buses drive down our streets so watch out for kids!
Coming up is Labor Day and the Bluffton Free Street Fair.
