City:

Thursday, 2:35 p.m. Villa North plaza parking lot. Caller reported stolen license plate.

Thursday, 4:04 p.m., Walmart Supercenter, 2100 N. Main St. Belligerent customer threatening employees. Officers responded. The man was trespassed off Walmart property.

Thursday, 6:04 p.m., Wells County Council on Aging. Verbal altercation. Situation calmed, parties separated and told to stop talking to each other.

Thursday, 7:21 p.m., Bluffton Wesleyan Chapel, 1309 W. Washington St. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. Alarm accidentally tripped.

Thursday, 8:18 p.m., Elm Grove Road at Ind. 124. Large dead groundhog in the road. Officer responded and removed the groundhog.

Thursday, 8:29 p.m., Handi Spot convenience store, 616 W. Lancaster St. Report of a man and a woman arguing loudly. Officers responded. Bobby Jay Davis, Indianapolis, was arrested on a warrant out of Johnson County for failing to appear for a pretrial conference in Johnson County Superior Court on one count of criminal conversion, a Class A misdemeanor.

Thursday, 9:43 p.m., residence in the 600 block of Beth Avenue. Caller reported of boys shooting a pellet gun. Officer responded and discovered the juveniles were shooting an Orbeez gun — a gun that fires liquid or gel-filled orbs — and not pellets.

Friday, 7:09 a.m., residence in the 800 block of South Main Street. Officer requested to remove a bat from the residence. Officer located the bat, trapped it and then set it free outside.

Friday, 10:18 a.m., residence in the 1500 block of Highland Court, Old Creek addition. Gun reported stolen or lost.

County:

Thursday, 3:32 p.m., residence on Northeast Smuts Street in Zanesville. Loud verbal altercation between an estranged husband and wife. Sheriff’s deputies responded. Situation calmed, parties separated.

Ossian:

Monday, 7:54 p.m., Melching Machine, 1630 Baker Drive. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. Alarm accidentally tripped by employees.

Monday, 8:12 p.m., Ossian Subway, 502 S. Jefferson St. Officers requested after a couple female customers allegedly became belligerent after learning the Subway did not have enough ingredients.

Monday, 8:56 p.m., Mi Casa Restaurant, 1140 Dehner Drive. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. Alarm accidentally tripped by the owner.

Tuesday, 10:51 a.m., Tipsy Ditch, 710 S. Jefferson St. Sometime between midnight and the early morning hours, a semi turned around in the parking lot of the business and knocked over an electrical pole. An Ossian police officer was able to use video surveillance footage from Wine & Spirits next door and determine that it was a First Fleet semi. The trailer number was clearly visible so the officer contacted First Fleet and was advised that they would be supplying the officer with the driver’s information and insurance.

Wednesday, 6:28 a.m., residence in the 600 block of North Metts Street. Report of a verbal altercation between a man and a woman. Officers responded. The female half was leaving as an officer arrived and told him there was no problem at the residence. She had just come to get her hair extensions.

Wednesday, 4:45 p.m., residence in the 700 block of West LaFever Street. Loud verbal altercation between a man and his step-grandson. Officers responded. Situation calmed, parties separated.

Wednesday, 1:52 p.m., residence in the 400 block of Shady Lane, Rose Ann Heights addition. A four-year-old child called 911 to report his mother had fallen and was injured. Ossian police, Ossian Fire Department first responders and Wells County EMS responded.
