Elizabeth “Betty” Jean Garner, 65, of Bluffton, passed away on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026.
She was born Nov. 16, 1960, in Portland to Clarence Edward and Imogene Enola (Shively) Amstutz.
Betty is survived by siblings, William “Bill” Amstutz of Rushville and Robert (Rita) Amstutz of Defiance, Ohio, and Barbara (Burley) Hough of Geneva; three stepchildren, Carla Garner, Corrine Van Skyock and Christopher Garner, all of Portland; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Garner; her parents; her sister, Rebecca “Becky” Amstutz; and her oldest stepson, Jared Wayne Garner.
Family and friends may gather from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Sept. 14, 2026, at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, located at 100 N. Washington Street in Geneva, and for one hour prior to service.
A service will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. on Sept. 15, 2026, with Pastor Tim Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bryant.
