Jerry L. Sprankles, 60, of Bluffton, passed away peacefully following a short illness at his home Saturday evening, Oct. 25, 2025.

Jerry was born in Bluffton on May 31, 1965. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Sprankles. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Norma (Perry) Zent and Dewey Zent, of Warren. 

Jerry graduated from Bluffton High School in 1983. He was a dedicated employee, working for Alro Steel in Fort Wayne for over 40 years. He will be remembered for his love of his family as a devoted father, son, and brother.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, Jerry is survived by a son, Nicholas Sprankles of Bluffton; a daughter, Leslie Sprankles of Bluffton; a brother, Joe (Loris) Sprankles of Convoy, Ohio; two sisters, Angela Sprankles (Chad Brown) of Fort Wayne and Alesia Bacon of Bluffton; along with his black lab Midnight. 

Aside from his father, Jerry was preceded in death by an infant brother, Timothy.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. 

Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

In honor of Jerry’s love for Midnight, memorial contributions may be made to the Wells County Friends of the Shelter.
